Location: Kochi Bishop House lies on a small hill in the proximity of the Parade ground and is a must visit place on your trip to Kochi.

Description: The Bishop House at Kochi was constructed during the year of 1506 and is a perfect example of the fine architectural expertise prevailing at that time. The front face of the Bishop House flaunts massive Gothic arches and circular paths leading to the main entry of the house, giving it a royal look. In the neighborhood of Bishop House is located a museum named Indo-Portuguese Museum. It showcases the treasured and priceless artifacts collected from numerous churches located in the premises of Kochi district. Bishop house has been renovated to give a new look by almost every bishop residing in the house since 1888 but none of them face lifted the basic foundation and structure of the house. The massive and wide corridors, spacious living rooms, ancient wooden staircases add to the elegance of the house, along with stained glass windows and marble floor nearby the main staircase. The paintings showcased inside the Bishop house are treasured pieces of art and there are 36 paintings displayed on the huge walls of the house, highlighting several historical events, like foundation of Catholic Church in Kerala, Arrival of Portuguese, etc.
