Location: Located in the Higher Secondary School campus, Sri Sathya Sai Hill View Station is one of the well-known tourist spots of Puttaparthi.
Description: Sri Sathya Sai Hill View Station is a large stadium, mainly constructed for events like annual sports and cultural meets of various institutions established by the Sathya Sai Foundation. The lush green stadium offers panoramic view of beautiful sculptures like Shiva, Krishna, Shirdi Sai Baba, Zoroaster Buddha and Jesus Christ. Tourists can visit the stadium when it is used for any cultural event or other ceremonies. After seeing an artificial waterfall in the stadium with a statue of Lord Shiva it seems that River Ganga is flowing down his hair. Visitors may be surprised to see the viewer’s gallery which is so big that it can accommodate about twenty five thousand people at a time. On 30th December 1997, an International Cricket Match was held in the stadium. Famous cricketers from India and other countries played for Sri Sathya Sai Unity Cup in this match.
Activities: If you are planning to visit Puttaparthi, then January 11 would be the perfect time when annual institutional meets are held in the stadium. Apart from this, a grand celebration to mark Sathya Sai Baba’s birthday is also organized in the stadium every year.
