Aram Bagh (Ram / Dahra / Zahra Bagh)

Laid out in the year 1558, Aram Bagh was founded by Babar and is regarded as the first Persian Bagh. The Mughal emperor used to relax here by listening to music, while enjoying the fragrance of beautiful flowers. Located on the banks of river Yamuna this Persian style garden was believed to house the tomb of Babar. It is one of the oldest gardens of the Mughal Empire.

This Bagh is situated in an elevated plain and the beautifully flowing water cascade offers a relaxing view to the tourists. Well maintained lawns and streams that flow from one terrace to another make the view more dazzling. Main attraction of the garden still remains the two, 200 years old, tamarind trees that stand in perfect condition till date. In summers, tourists can enjoy the cool breeze that offers relief from the scorching heat. This garden is regarded as a paradise for nature enthusiasts.
