The Perur Siva Temple is located in the west of the Coimbatore city which is around 6 kilometers ahead of it. Karikala Cholan constructed this temple and it is built on the river bank of the Noyyal River. The Lord Shiva is the main deity of this temple and Patteeswaras is called to the deity in the shrine and Pachai Nayaki to his Consort. In the 17th century, the external edge of the building was built of the sawyers of Madurai and the inner area of worship is relatively very old. At the entrance of the temple there is a prominent statue of the Indian soldiers. Mel Chidambaram is the other name of the temple.
