The Ayyappan temple is situated on the Sree Ayyappan Road in Sidhapudur district in the Coimbatore city. The Ayyappan temple was built in the year 1976, as per records. A trust named as Sri Dharma Sastha Baktha Jana Sabha constructed this temple. In fact, the Sri Dharma Sastha Baktha Jana Sabha wished to build an Ayyappan temple in Coimbatore city which must be quite a similar to the Ayyappan temple of the Sabarimala district. At last, all their dreams came true. All the activities of the Ayyappan temple in Sabarimala like the prayers and other religious and spiritual practices were closely observed and followed in the Ayyappan temple of Sidhapudur. The opening and closing time of the Ayyappan temple is 5.00 am and 9.00 pm respectively. The early morning and evening hour’s prayers are conducted every day in this temple. Moreover, mainly during the Ayyappa seasons some special prayers are conducted in this temple.
