Situated in Vanasthalipuram, at a distance of about 15km from the main city is the beautiful, Mahavir Harina Vanasthali Wildlife Park. Also renowned as Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park, this park is named after Lord Mahavir.
Inaugurated in the year 1975, this nature’s paradise on earth has a special place in the hearts of visitors. This park is home to various extinct and endangered species among which black bucks are the major attraction that can be sited in its premises. Besides, one can see deer, Monitor Lizards, Mongooses, Porcupines, Cheetahs and Wild Boar and different kinds of birds, namely Eagle, Egrets, Kingfishers, Cormorants, Doves, Partridges, Peacocks, Pond Herons and many more.
