A small stream of water, lying amidst the MLA Colony in Jubilee Hills, is the delightful Lotus Pond. Situated in the Hyderabad district of Andhra Pradesh, this place is a perfect retreat for lovers and couples for spending some leisure time.
Sprawling over an area of 1.2 km, the pond has a beautiful park adjacent to it, which has vivid variety of flowers and herbal vegetation, thus offering picturesque views to the eyes of visitors. For nature lovers this place is full of ecstasy, as you can see different kinds of migratory and residential birds, namely white wagtail, little grebe, sunbirds, pied kingfisher, common coot and little egret.
Initiated in the year 1999, the construction of this project was completed in 2001. The park was set up with the aim to publicize the importance of biodiversity and brining up eco-friendly elements into use in daily life. Today the park is well maintained by the municipal cooperation of Hyderabad.
