Situated at a distance of about 60 km from the heart of the city of Hyderabad, Yadagiri Gutta is a well known mythological pilgrim place. Another name for “Lord Narasimha” is “Yadagiri” and the word “Gutta” in Telugu language means “a hill” and this is how the temple was named. Abode of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, who is considered to be Lord Vishnu’s incarnation, is present on a hilltop in a cave.
Yadagiri Gutta is a cave temple that lies at a height of about 300 feet. A water body known as kund is also present on the top of a small hill and is considered as holy. Tourists in large numbers visit this sacred place to wash away their sins.
