Well known as Hyderabad Zoo, Nehru Zoological Park is spread over an area of 300 acres and is considered as a haven for more than 1500 species of animals, birds and reptiles combined together. Regarded as one of Asia’s largest Zoos, the Nehru Zoological Park is situated near Bahadurpur in Hyderabad.
Set amongst woodsy setting, this zoological park lies adjacent to the famous Mir Alam tank lake. Established in 1963, this is the first Indian zoo that has arranged animals according to zoological order. For the successful breeding of animals, they have been put in open enclosures, which make them feel like they are in their natural surroundings.
Visitors can easily view animals, such as Spotted Deer, Crocodile, Blackbuck, Royal Bengal Tigers and many more. Along with a visit to the zoo, people can also enjoy themselves by visiting the Natural History Museum or by taking a ride on the mini train.
