Location: A man-made lake, Gadsisar Lake is situated on the southern side of Jaisalmer. Entered through the Tilon-ki-Pol, this water reservoir was built by the Jaisalmer’s first ruler, Raja Rawal Jaisal in the 12th century. Travelers can easily reach this lake as it lies at a distance of just 2 km from the railway station.

Description: Once a reserve that regulated water supply of this entire arid city, Gadi Sagar has now become a tourist destination. Visitors in large number throng this place to seek some seclusion from the busy city life. Exquisitely carved temples, ghats, chhatris and shrines adorn this place. Different migratory birds that hover over the place add to the beauty of the lake. A picture perfect place, this lake offers a number of opportunities for a person interested in photography.
