As it is the divisional head quarters of the North Western Railways, getting to Jodhpur by train is rather easy. The city is accessible thanks to the presence of a large rail network which connects it to the cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Trivandrum, Bangalore, Pune, Kanpur, Kota, Bareilly, Ahmedabad, Indore, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Guwahati, Dhanbad, Nagpur, Gwalior, Lucknow and even Jaipur by an extremely large number of trains. Tourists can also avoid the traffic with the development of the Bhagat ki Kothi station being built in the suburbs of the city. The Jodhpur airport is located in the city and is also being developed into an international airport. There are a number of flights which connect Jodhpur to the cities of Mumbai and Delhi. This number is set to increase in the near future as the airport development continues.
Jodhpur can be reached via bus from almost every major city in the state of Rajasthan and even other cities like Delhi, Agra, Ahmedabad, Ujjain, Jaisalmer, Udaipur and even Surat. There are a number of buses which travel on the three National highways and ten state highways connected to this city which can be availed by tourists.
