During the reign of Maharaja of Mysore, the area got its place in the Indian history and became a popular elephant camp. There were several programs organized by the emperor and his fellows to guide the elephants, for the world known Mysore Dussera festival and other royal occasions in the kingdom.

Besides the camp, you can take pleasure in lush greenery and serene spots of Dubare. The place has huge deciduous forests that serve as shelters for its birds and animals. Within the woods you can witness some beautiful birds, namely Woodpeckers, Partridge, kingfisher, Peacock and many such species. In addition to this, the camp has programs including jungle safari and elephant rides, which will help you explore the various attractions of this forest.
