Coorg does not possess a railway network of its own. However you can travel by train to Mysore, Mangalore, and Hassan first and then plan your journey by road by hiring any taxi or by opting for a bus service which directly heads to Coorg. Among all Mangalore is the major railway head as it connect Coorg to all cities in India.
Coorg does not have its own airport but the nearest domestic airport is Mangalore airport. It is approximately 135km from the main city. The Mangalore airport has good connectivity with nearby cities in the region as well as the airports in South India, especially to Chennai and Bangalore. The Bangalore airport is very well linked to many gulf countries and other foreign cities making it easy for the travelers to reach the place in short interval of time.
Coorg has well laid-out network of roads connected by K.S.R.T.C buses. Madileri is the main town in Coorg which is very well connected by bus to Mysore, Mangalore, and Bangalore. Most of these bus services are state –run and they get you to main city in considerably less time. You can also avail the deluxe bus service from these cities.
