CHITRAKOOT- a Tourist’s Delight
Considered to be one of the oldest pilgrimage places in India, Chitrakoot is located on the banks of River Mandakini. Incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Mahesh and Brahma are believed to have been born on this land.
According to mythology, while on exile of 14 years, Lord Ram, Laxman and Sita stayed at Chitrakoot for 11 years. It is also believed that various gods and godesses who visited Chitrakoot refused to leave this place as they were mesmerized by the region’s beauty.
