Chikballapur- Native Place of Sri Visveswarayya
Well known for having a large number of tourist attractions, Chikballapur is located in the state of Karnataka. This place is considered to be the birth place of engineer Sri Visveswarayya. Being an educational center, various proposed and existing institutes, such as Visveswarayya Institute of Advanced Technology, Sri Sathya Sai Baba University and the IIT Muddenahalli, are present here.
Different man-made as well as natural attractions are present in this city. Some of them which attract a large number of tourists are the Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple located at the base of famous Nandi hills and the Yoga Nandeeshwara Temple which is located at the top of a hill. These temples were constructed to honor Sri Yoga Narasimha and were built according to the Dravidian Architecture Style.
The Vivekananda waterfalls that lie at a distance of 12 km from the town offer a marvelous view of the city. The cascade looks even more beautiful after the rains. A temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu is known as Rangasthala and houses a beautiful statue of the Lord made out of black stone.
